Every other one just traps the warmth you're already making — which is no help at all if you're the person who's always cold. This one makes its own: three carbon heating panels across the back, the sleeves and both hand pockets, warm in sixty seconds, and because it plugs in it never runs out halfway through the evening. The Grinch is why it's fun to unwrap. The heat is why it's still on you in February.
Four steps, sixty seconds
Plug it in, press it once, and enjoy.
One size, deliberately oversized. Goes on over whatever you're already wearing — pyjamas, jeans, three jumpers, no judgement.
Plug the cord into any normal wall outlet — long enough to reach the chair you actually sit in.
Tap to cycle low, medium, high. Carbon fibre reaches temperature in about a minute — not the four or five a wire blanket takes.
This is where battery robes give up — three or four hours and you're cold again. This one doesn't stop. Sit there all evening if you want to.

I bought this as a gag gift for my husband because he is the biggest Grinch every Christmas. Joke's on me because he literally refuses to take it off. The heating pads get incredibly warm, and the fleece is shockingly high quality. Honestly, I'm buying a second one for myself so I can stop stealing his!
So warm and absolutely hilarious! The 3 heat settings are an absolute lifesaver for winter movie nights on the couch. Best purchase ever.
I work from home and my office gets freezing. This robe is essentially a wearable heated blanket that doesn't fall off. The oversized hood is ridiculously cozy and the green color is super vibrant in person.
I was highly skeptical about a novelty heated robe, but the Heat Grump is the real deal. The carbon heating elements heat up in seconds, and I love that the battery pack pocket is perfectly placed so it doesn't weigh you down. I've washed it twice (removed the tech first) and it's still as fluffy as day one.
Yes — and that's exactly why it never runs out. The Heat Grump plugs into a normal wall outlet, on a cord long enough to reach comfortably from wherever you sit. Battery robes give you three or four hours and then you're cold again, with a power bank to buy and remember to charge. This one keeps going for as long as you're sitting there, and there's no battery sealed inside to die in two years and take the robe with it.
It's easy. Unplug it, detach the controller, and machine wash on a cold, gentle cycle. Hang it up to air dry to keep the plush fleece feeling brand new. Don't wring it and don't tumble dry it — the carbon elements are sewn to survive the wash, not the tumble.
You don't need to guess — one size, and it fits everyone. The Heat Grump is a massive wearable blanket, intentionally oversized and baggy so it goes on over whatever you're already wearing and you can pull your arms and legs inside. Nothing to measure, no size to pick, no getting it wrong.
As long as you want it to. That's the advantage of the cord — there's no battery quietly counting down. A battery robe gives you three or four hours on the high setting and then it's over; this one simply doesn't have that clock running. Put it on at six and it's still warm at eleven.
The heating elements run at low voltage — the adapter steps mains power down at the plug, so what runs through the fabric against you is not wall current. There's an automatic shut-off timer on the controller and overheat protection on the heating circuit, so if you doze off on the sofa it turns itself off. Like any heated garment, we wouldn't recommend sleeping in it overnight — it's built for evenings in the chair.
Three: low, medium and high. Press the button on the controller to cycle through them and find your level. Carbon fibre reaches temperature in about sixty seconds, so you'll know straight away whether you've picked the right one.
